FIND PARENTING GUIDANCE AND DIRECTION
Parenting today can be confusing.
Sometimes we feel we’re flying blind, just making it up as we go along. What does it mean to be a “good” parent? How will we know if we’re doing it right?
Feeling off course? Let me help guide you through these challenging days.
Instead of reacting moment to moment, you can be a proactive, big-picture parent. Let’s raise children who thrive!
KAREN WELSER
Parenting coach,
preschool teacher, mother of four…I’ve seen it all.
Hi! I’m Karen Welser. My husband and I have raised four wonderful children, currently ages 14 to 27. Two are ours by birth, and two through adoption. I was a stay-at-home-mom for many years, a homeschool teacher, and then became a nursery school teacher when my youngest was preschool age.
As I followed my passion for helping families, I completed my Human Behavior Consultant certification for Parent Coaching. I’ve worked with many families who want to connect more effectively with their children and help them thrive. We’ve launched three of our kids out into the world, but with one at home, I’m navigating that parenting journey right alongside you.
Explore Parent Compass
Connecting with families is the heart of Parent Compass. Let’s work together to get your family thriving! I meet with families in person or virtually. After each session, I send a written summary and action plan.
You aren’t alone. Join one of my parenting groups, or host your own! It’s a low-cost option for asking questions and workshopping solutions in a small group setting. Hit that “Contact me” button for more info!
I work with preschools, daycare centers, schools, and churches. I’m happy to speak at your family retreat, women’s conference, adult Sunday school hour, or your school’s parent night. Contact me to discuss ideas for your event.
What happens in a coaching session?
HERE’S HOW IT WORKS:
We meet in person or virtually. You tell me about your family and what your concerns are. We’ll talk! Following our session, I’ll email you a summary of our time together and an action plan tailored to your family.
You can choose how many times you’d like to meet. Each 60-minute coaching session is $125. Some families want just one quick consulting session; other families want an ongoing coaching relationship, meeting weekly or monthly for check-ins, encouragement, and guidance. You can book as often as you wish on my scheduling calendar. If you want the same time slot weekly, I’m happy to reserve that for you.
Ready to meet? Let’s connect.
Ready for some guidance on your parenting journey? Schedule a consulting session with me. I follow up on every session with a tailor-made summary of our time together and a suggested action plan, so you can move forward with confidence. I’m with you every step of the way! Let’s do this together.

Testimonials
Here are a few reflections from families I’ve worked with:
Karen has a wealth of wisdom, from her years raising her own children to her vocation working with children. She provides a safe, open, warm space to ask questions that promotes honest dialogue. It is so refreshing and comforting, knowing we are not parenting blindly, because we have her as a resource and support. We are so grateful for for her, and you can see her passion and commitment to children and parents to help create thriving families. — B. J.
Karen has that wonderful combination of a brilliant mind, kind heart, and wisdom from years of experience. She's a great listener and her advice is truly useful. Walking the difficult parenting journey with someone you can trust to understand, empathize, and strategize with is so valuable. I hope to glean more from her teaching over the years!
— Amanda K.
Working with Karen has been such a privilege. She can fly at 30,000 feet, talking big picture parenting principles with you, and she can also get into the nitty gritty, giving you practical tools to implement as soon as you go home to your child. Her style is non-judgmental, empathetic, and encouraging, and she instantly puts you at ease. She's been a wealth of knowledge, and a welcome liaison between me and my beloved 4yo as we've navigated the tricky preschool years. Above all, I cherish my relationships with my husband and children the most, and the fact that she's helped to grow, protect, and nurture them has been a priceless gift to me and my family. I couldn't more highly recommend her as an investment in your family's health and happiness. — C. S.
What a gift and blessing our time together was. It was really a turning point for me. My head has been clearer and things have felt more hopeful since we met. Bless you for kindly holding space and offering wisdom!
—S. H.
